Easy Vegetarianism| Its Not Really Hard

Vegetarianism the Easy Way

Hi guys in this article I will give you tips on easy Vegetarianism, it’s not really hard. I like that phrase. “Make it easy on yourself.” And it’s a good motto for learning a new skill or going through a big life transition. When you decide to explore becoming a vegetarian, it is very easy to get scared off by what appears to be a difficult road ahead. But the truth is, there is an easy way and a hard way to become a vegetarian. So in keeping with our motto of the day of “make it easy on yourself”, lets discuss vegetarianism the easy way.

First of all along with learning a new way to eat, you are also giving up something you probably have loved to eat for years. So to reduce the difficulty in going through this transition, don’t try to accomplish the entire transition in one day. We have a mistaken concept about vegetarians that the conversion is instantaneous as though one day the person was eating all the meat he or she could find and in a flash they became a robe wearing, mantra singing vegetarian. But that is complete myth. Most successful vegetarians found there way into the discipline in stages and gave up meat slowly.Easy Vegetarianism| Its Not Really Hard

You might take on your vegetarian transition one meal at a time. First give up eggs and bacon for breakfast and switch to grain cereals or pancakes. Don’t try to give up cheese and milk at first. Select specific items you will eliminate from specific meals and just accomplish that for a week or so. Then once you have conquered that step, add lunch and then much later add dinner. And don’t throw your hands up and give up if you have a moment of weakness and have a hamburger one day. You won’t be drummed out of the vegetarian society for one mistake in your program. Just get back with it and keep on keeping on.

Find ways to see some success by being reasonable and sensible about how you approach your meal planning. If one of your goals for switching to a meatless diet is to lose weight, don’t substitute sugars and sweats for the meat. If you find yourself eating without meat but each day you have a big bowl of fruit drowned in sugary additives, you won’t lose the weight and you might mistakenly think your program failed you. Think about what you eat so you don’t sabotage your own diet.

One of the things that scares a lot of people away from trying vegetarianism is the idea of having to learn to eat exotic and expensive new foods such as tofu, and tempeh. So make it easy on yourself and eat the foods you know. By doing your shopping in your own grocery store and buying more food from the produce section than the meat section, you will be working with foods like carrots, onions, garlic, broccoli, celery and cabbage and that familiarity will make the transition to becoming a vegetarian easier to take. Also, by shopping where you are comfortable and eating “normal” foods, you eliminate the sensation that you are joining some bizarre cult.

Now make it fun. Yes it can be fun to be a vegetarian. You can start shopping at farmer’s markets instead at the boring grocery store and select very fresh produce and vegetables for your next cooking experiment. Not only are outdoor markets more fun, you will find them cheaper so instead of seeing your food budget go up because of becoming a vegetarian, it goes down.

Then by working as a family to find fun vegetarian recipes and working together to make them, everybody gets in on the act discovering how delicious vegetarian meals can be. And when you are having fun, you may forget entirely that you dreaded this transition. Before long, you are a vegetarian and it didn’t hurt a bit!

Eating Vegetarian For Life

Becoming a vegetarian is a frightening thought for most people of the western world. We have become so used to having a serving of dead animal on our plates that without it we feel that we have not eaten. With the rising rate of death associated with heart disease being what it is, we all may want to at least consider the thought of meatless meals.

Or at least we should try skipping a day or two now and then for our hearts sake. Vegetarianism is growing ever more popular among westerners. The health benefits associated with meatless eating clearly outweighs cutting back part-time on your intake. Just the fact that you will not be consuming large amounts of artery-clogging animal fat is a great reason to quit.

Saturated fat filled foods are the leading cause of heart disease, which kills 500,000 people every year in America. Eating a plant based diet means you will be eating a ton of fiber in your diet. Easier digestion means that your body will be using less energy for pushing food through your system. When trying to live on a diet of meat, your digestive system is always struggling to push slow moving animal products through your body and has to conserve energy to continue doing this every day.

This encourages the presence of unfriendly bacteria to begin growing in your system and eventually disease will occur. The nutrients found in plant foods far outweigh what you would get eating a diet high in meat and dairy products. As long as you eat a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and grains every single day, you will not be deficient nutritionally. Eating a meal of beans and rice give you more protein per serving than meat without the saturated fat.

There are lots of nutrients found in brown rice and unrefined grains. Be sure to eat 100% whole grains to get the full benefit of this healthy style of living. The overall benefits of a meat free diet are monumental and should become the foundation for anyone trying to change to a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss is inevitable when eating less fat and consuming more fiber from plants will make you feel lighter on your feet. Your immune system will get a positive boost from this eating style of veggies and fruits. Eat them in abundance. This is much-needed with the evolution of different species of bacteria and viruses that threaten mankind every year.

Vegetarians and heart disease

No matter what your reasons for eating a more vegetarian diet, there’s no denying the obvious health benefits that are derived from the elimination of red meat from your diet. On average, vegetarians have lower levels of the blood fats, cholesterol and triglycerides than meat eaters of similar age and social status have.

High levels of blood fats are associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Lacto-ovo vegetarians, those who eat eggs and dairy products, which contain cholesterol-raising saturated fats and cholesterol, have higher cholesterol levels than do vegans, as those who abstain from all animal foods are called. But even among lacto-ovo vegetarians, cholesterol levels are generally lower than they are among meat eaters.Easy Vegetarianism| Its Not Really Hard

Researchers have found that older men who eat meat six or more times a week are twice as likely to die of heart disease as those who abstain from meat. Among middle-aged men, meat eaters were four times more likely to suffer a fatal heart attack, according to the study.

As for women, who are partly protected by their hormones and generally develop heart disease later in life than men do, the risk of fatal heart disease has been found to be lower only among the older vegetarians. In a 1982 study of more than 10,000 vegetarians and meat eaters, British researchers found that the more meat consumed, the greater the risk of suffering a heart attack.

Though eliminating meat from the diet is likely to reduce your consumption of heart-damaging fats and cholesterol, substituting large amounts of high-fat dairy products and cholesterol-rich eggs can negate the benefit. To glean the heart-saving benefits of vegetarianism, consumption of such foods as hard cheese, cream cheese, ice cream and eggs should be moderate. And the introduction of more vegetables, fruits and raw foods will definitely enhance the benefits of abstaining from eating meat.

Weight Loss and Vegetarianism

Think about it, have you ever seen a fat vegetarian? Probably not. In fact, for most of us, vegetarian is almost synonymous with lean and healthy, isn’t it? And when you start any diet, what’s the first thing the experts tell you? Generally it’s to increase the amounts of vegetables you’re eating and to eat limited amounts of meat, especially high-fat red meat and pork.

And what happens when you resume your old eating habits? Generally the weight will come right back on. Even the greatest will-power can’t overcome the unhealthy effects of eating high-fat meat.

When you eat a diet that’s higher in dietary fiber, that’s primarily if not totally vegetarian, you’re naturally healthier. You’re feeding your body and getting it the nutrition it needs to run efficiently. You have more energy and stamina; you wake up more easily and more refreshed. It’s easier to exercise, because you’re not so weighed down by digesting the high fat and excessive protein that comes from eating a carnivorous diet

Many diets fail because we think of them as depriving ourselves of food we love. The trick is to change that thinking. There are so many compelling reasons to eliminate meat from our diet, so why not forget about losing weight? Focus instead on eating healthier, or eating in a way that’s in balance with the earth, and that doesn’t need to subsist on the suffering of animals. You’ll probably find you’ll start to lose weight without even thinking about it!

And when you do lose weight, so many other health risks can fall by the wayside as well. You’ll find your blood pressure falls into a healthier range and your risk for Type II diabetes can decrease. You’ll look better and feel better and probably never go back to your old ways of eating!

Conclusion-Inclosing

Yet another healthy tip for healthy living, I know trying to be healthy sometime seems so hard, Why? the foods that is never good for us always taste the best when is reality it’s the worst for our bodies indeed, I used to be a meat lover to the extent where I couldn’t eat food without meat, now I request food without meat. It takes my body into a whole different experience for the better.

I now feel healthy as ever with some exercise to go with it. My people when put you mind to something, you really can achieved it surprising yourself in some cases, I never believed I could have achieved this how I was so in love with all meat, and that is Beef, Pork etc. Try some of the steps above and you can easily accomplish a healthier life. Baby steps can do that for you.

  5. Hello Earl,

Thanks for sharing this wonderful article. Living on a particular diet is not really easy because you’ll need time to adapt because your body system will have to adapt all over to a new diet. However, with these simple tips you have given here, it would not be so difficult for most of us to give it a try and it’s completely nice to try.

  6. Going from eating meat-filled meals all day to restricting that aspect of what you’re used to can be really hard but if one is truly willing to make this big change in their life, then with time it becomes easier. As you stated, starting small is the short term goal. It’s harder if you dig in going from 0 to 100 than going from 0 to 1. It’s easier for your brain to process the big change and adapt to it’s new lifestyle.

  7. Great article! I agree that becoming a vegetarian is the best and healthy thing to do in order to live a longer, healthier life. I also know that it is not easy giving up all those yummy foods that we have enjoyed for years. Slowly tapering off very gradually is best of course, just like with any habit that we try to break and replace with something better. Nice job!

  10. I have this idea that vegetarianism is a very hard thing to do and this is because of the kind of food they eat and how to abstain from any delicacy that’s out of the vegetarian book. Thanks for this article, it is a good one and it makes it easy for people to understand what being a vegetarian is all about and how to make it easier to deal with.
